Plums are a very good source of vitamin C. They are also a
good source of vitamins B1, B2, and B6, and dietary fiber.
Plums contain neochlorogenic and cholorogenic acid, two
related compounds classified as phenols that have
well-documented antioxidant and anticancer effects.
Plums are sometimes used for their laxative effects, although
not nearly as powerful as their dried cousin the prune.
